Ann Kossakowski, violin |
The daughter of musicians, Ms. Kossakowski studied both violin and piano as a young child. She attended the Interlochen National Music Camp, the University of Montana, Illinois State University, and the Yale School of Musics summer chamber music festival at Norfolk, Connecticut. Her former teachers include Eugene Andrie in Montana, Arthur Tabachnik at Interlochen, Karen Clarke and Joyce Robbins. She has done chamber music coaching with the Tokyo String Quartet, Ruth Laredo, and Felix Galimir. Before joining the New Jersey Symphony in 1980, she was a member of the Montana String Quartet. She has served as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestras librarian for nearly as long as she has been a member of the orchestra; currently she and her husband, retired trumpeter Cass Kossakowski, form the orchestras library team. In addition to her New Jersey Symphony Orchestra positions, Ann can frequently be heard playing on Broadway in such shows as Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. She was formerly heard in Crazy for You, Big, and Titanic. She lives in West Orange with her husband and 4 children. Ann has been a member of Classic Touch since 1985.
