Alexandra Gorokhovsky, a native of Kiev, Ukraine, joined the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in 1995. In Ukraine, she received prizes in regional and national solo and chamber music competitions and was trained at the Kiev State Conservatory. After moving to the United States with her family in 1989, she studied with Oleh Krysa, Glenn Dicterow, Michael Gilbert, and Yoko Takebe at the Manhattan School of Music, where she received Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She has performed in master classes with Mr. Dicterow and Andres Cardenes, concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her family.
