  • What is Classic Touch?

    We are a classical ensemble, performing a wide range of musical styles.

  • What is the instrumentation of Classic Touch?

    We are usually a string quartet: 2 violins, viola, cello or a string trio: violin, viola, cello.

  • Are other instruments available?

    Yes. We often perform with trumpet, flute, oboe, harp and piano.

  • Can you engage a vocal soloist for my wedding ceremony?

    Yes. We work with many fine vocal artists. They are engaged at an extra cost.

  • Do you know how to follow the mass at a Roman Catholic service?

    Yes. We are very experienced in the order of the mass, as well as other denominational and civil ceremonies.

  • Can you play for Jewish ceremonies?

    Yes. We have a complete library of appropriate music and have a great deal of experience.

  • Do you have a demo and a repertoire list?

    Yes. Our demo is 25 minutes in length and contains a variety of selections, from classical to Broadway. Our repertoire list includes highlights from the past four centuries of great music.

  • What are your fees?

    Our fees are determined by the total length of time required and location.

  • What if someone is ill and can’t play?

    We have many colleagues in the metropolitan area whom we engage on an emergency basis. They act as our “preferred” extra players.

  • What do you wear?

    We usually wear formal black or black and white. Sometimes we’re asked to wear colorful clothing; whatever the client wants!

  • When do you arrive?

    In plenty of time to get set up, (we require only 4 armless chairs) usually at least 1/2 hour prior to the event.

  • Do you use amplification?

    Rarely, due to the acoustic properties of our instruments.

  • Do you play outdoors?

    Yes. But usually not when the temperature is under 60 or over 90 degrees.

  • Will you help choose music for our event?

    Yes. One of our specialties is to advise and help tailor music to your individual needs.

  • Do you do special music arrangements?

    Yes. For an additional fee.

  • What about insurance? Are you Insured?

    Yes. As members of the American Federation of Musicians we are insured for 1 million dollars through our union. Insurance certificates are available upon request.

  • How do I engage Classic Touch?

    Contact us by phone or with our quick web form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you wish to engage Classic Touch, you will be sent or faxed a simple contract. A small deposit secures your date. The balance is due two weeks prior to your event. It’s very simple. Everything is handled promptly and personal checks are acceptable.
